Downhill skiing in Vuokatti

On April 5th I went one day to make downhill skiing in Vuokatti with Magdalena, a German friend. This exit was organized by Kamo, the association of my university.

We took the bus at 8:30 am, which was free and chartered exclusively for us. The route to go to Vuokatti lasted approximately 30 minutes. When we got there we went to get back our equipment, our pass ski and we went to ski.
Vuokatti is a ski resort composed about 15 tracks. There is numerous ski lifts, snow park snowboarding and snowtubing tunnel. Tracks are not very long and are easy to come down, even black ski runs. In two hours, we had tested all the tracks of the resort.

There are 3 levels of tracks in Finland: blue, they are the easy tracks; red, they are the tracks of an average level; and black, they are the difficult tracks. In France, we also have another color indicating the very easy tracks: the green.

I took this photo since the top of the tracks, we can see a magnificent clear view and perceive lakes as far as the eye can see.

There was not a lot of people in the resort, thus we could use the ski lifts without queuing up as it is the case in numerous ski resorts in the Alps, it was very appreciable.
At lunchtime, we have eaten in a restaurant of the resort which proposed a buffet.
I spent a great day to Vuokatti, we had a great weather, a beautiful sun and it made until 15°C (most warmly that we had until now).

It is a very nice station for the beginners or the families because tracks are easy to come down. If you wish to go to it, I shall recommend to you to go for day but there no more, because you will have fast made the tour of the station!

Late in the afternoon we took our bus which returned us on campus of the university to Kajaani.
In the evening Kamo had organized one after-party ski to the club 96 (one of the two club of the city) to Kajaani.
